Wavell Heights Suburb Description
Located only 8kms north of the Brisbane CBD, containing three schools, emerging cafe culture, art houses and parks directly linking to the Kedron Brook Bikeway, this is a suburb built for professional families.
Known as “West Nundah” until 1941, the local postmaster made the call to split the suburb due to a booming population of returned servicemen settling in the suburb.
Large park areas, such as Kalinga Park, local shops on all surrounding arterial roads and good bus services making for a family-friendly community.
There are two large shopping centres within easy reach, Toombul Shopping Centre and Westfield Chermside which is one of the biggest shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere. Combined with quick access to the Gateway Motorway and Brisbane Airport, this is a suburb in a perfect location.
